I have been having such a wonderful time writing for this blog since I recommitted myself to it. I am trying to post every day and have had no trouble coming up with interesting article ideas. And I’m not the only one. The blogosphere was packed with great reading this week.

  • On Brandcurve, Susan Gunelius discusses the importance of branding for the future. She makes some excellent points that certainly hit home for any of us who started out small and didn’t necessarily think toward the future.
  • I haven’t linked out to DoshDosh in awhile. The reason for this is totally unfair. You see, Maki consistently writes excellent, unique articles so I assume everyone must be reading this blog. It is sort of like last presidential election when democrats thought, “Oh, I don’t really need to vote because there’s no way Bush could win again.” Every vote counts and I really should be giving DoshDosh the link love it deserves. That said, anyone who is interested in streamlining their Digg experience ought to read 12 Must-Have Tools for Active Digg Users. This is a no-fluff list of the best and brightest Digg apps and add-ons.
  • Skelliewag is one of the blogs that I heard about all the time, but hadn’t gotten around to reading. Wow, my loss. It truly is an excellent read and I have been having a blast combing the archives. This week, I’d like to point you to the excellently informative Why You’ve Got to Dig Digg to get Dugg. The title might be a bit of a mouthful, but the article inspired me to become more involved with Digg.
  • Mark calls us all back to the point in his article Get Products - Get Customers - Get Commissions. We often get lost in all the activity choices on the internet, but, as Mark says, if you want to make money, you have to choose products and find customers to buy them.
  • A List Apart has an excerpt from Luke Wroblewski’s upcoming book Web Form Design: Filling in the Blanks. In this section, Luke discusses the process of exploring new online services and asserts that Sign Up Forms Must Die. Rather than forcing a user to sign up before he/she gains access to the application, he suggests an approach of “gradual engagement” that allows the user to begin work and smoothly sign up a bit later in the process.
  • I just recently discovered The Office Diet when the owner, Ali, left a comment at Problogger. Her comment intrigued me as did her blog title so I went to check it out. I’m very glad I did. The Office Diet is a blog about staying in shape despite boredom, stress, lack of motivation and all those other things that can be caused by a sedentary occupation. I have really enjoyed reading through the archives so I thought I’d share some of my favorite posts with you: Stop Workplace Boredom and Stress from Ruining your Diet and How to Stop Making Excuses and Start Making Changes. Because of the personal development slant to these articles, their appeal is much wider than just people who have struggled with weight or motivation.
  • On the Simpleology blog, Mark Joyner offers up a great Roboform trick that can save you massive amounts of search time in the long run. If you don’t use Roboform, you ought to.
  • This isn’t exactly an article, but it is blog-related. It is yet another killer idea from Jim Kukral (Scratchback) Twitter Me This. You follow http://twitter.com/twittermethis and every once in awhile a random question is asked. If you are the first to answer the question correctly you win $5 instantly to your PayPal account. All you need to participate are the free Twitter and PayPal accounts. Fun!
  • I hope you enjoy these articles as much as I did. If you have a blog or specific article you’d like to see on the Trip, just tell me about it in the comments.

      Hi Sara,

Just wanted to say a big thanks for the link! It’s so nice to hear that you found The Office Diet helpful, and what better compliment could I hope for than “I have really enjoyed reading through the archives ” — I have a goofy grin on my face right now. —> :-D

I too have only recently started getting into Skelliewag.org which is an absolutely fantastic blog — always entertaining to read, and I always come away having had my thinking changed just a bit.

Hadn’t come across Pyjama Professional before but definitely looking forward to reading more of your posts (and not just because it’s the coolest blog title I’ve seen in a long while.)

Thanks again for the link and your kind words!

      Ali

Susan - you are very welcome!

Ali - You’re welcome for the link - it was definitely deserved. I enjoy your blog very much. I’m glad you like the title. I went through a period last fall where I didn’t like it at all, but I was already branded and everything so I didn’t want to change it. But when I had my blog redesigned by Unique Blog Designs, they ended up redoing the header and I just love those pink bunny slippers. So now I’m back to liking the name. =)

      Sara
