Michael Moore packs Seattle's Key Arena during his "Slacker Uprising" tour

I don’t usually get political on this blog and I don’t intend to in this post either. I am just, objectively and without sharing my opinions, letting you all know that Michael Moore has made his newest film, Slacker Uprising available for free to U.S. and Canadian residents. You can download it in a variety of ways or stream it. You can also request a DVD copy for $9.95.

Download Michael Moore’s Slacker Uprising

This film follows Michael for 42 days on a tour around the country, bringing young voters together to rally against W. Regardless of your political views, you ought to enjoy following Michael on what he calls an experience that was both “inspiring and frightening.” Just over a month until the final Presidential election, the timing of this release couldn’t be more perfect. Of course, being the brilliant media mind that he is (oops…are my political views spilling out?), Michael Moore made sure the film was released at the time when it would matter most.

If you have trouble downloading, streaming or paying $9.95 for the DVD, contact me and I’ll burn you a copy. I imagine most of you can handle watching it on your own, but I wanted to offer this because Moore’s films are always important (oops…there I go again) and brilliant (aw, forget it!).

I’m not a fan of Michael Moore; my impression is that he tends to do more harm than good.

You’re right about the timing of this release … and I think he did the same thing for the last election? I hope it helps. Maybe it will rally the faithful, excite the base, and get people who don’t want McBush, Term 3 out to the polls. On the other hand, M&M preaches to the choir. Bringing a million more voters to the polls in Washington won’t change the fact that Seattle overpowers Yakima and we’re going to vote blue, regardless … the state-by-state Electoral College is fairly anti-democratic. But now I’m starting to rant on your blog … sorry!

Thanks for the info but unfortunately Michael Moore will go to any length to discredit his target including hiring a couple actors in his past documentaries. I’m not saying he is wrong, but if he kept it 100% legitimate he would be taken more seriously. Right now his whole fan base is very left leaning people. In my opinion this won’t have any effect whatsoever on the election. .

Michael Moore is in my opinion a much misrepresented Film Director / Creator. His films are filled with sincerity and always follow very important issues.

This film is representive of his previous films and I would urge anyone to watch this carefully and think about the points it raises.

I bet Moore will be busy trying to document this $700 billion corporate bailout in the near future. :)

Thanks for the link to the video. I’m going to download it. M Moore is always entertaining to watch, but I’m not sure a two party political system can really produce the “best candidate.”

As a researcher, Moore has committed a mistake by only interviewing young people unless he makes it clear that his results only generalize to young people.

Even then if he made his political views known or selected subjects because they share his views, then the film has no value as a documentary.

I don’t know that he did this because I haven’t watched it, but from the comments, I guess that he did.

I agree that politics should be kept off blogs unless it’s a political blog. I just took two off my list for doing just that.

I liked his previous movies because he is pursuing the truth about certain matters. If he hires and actor here and there, who cares. The thing is, he reveals some of the facts most of as are not aware of.

Michael Moore brings about a solid movement for topics he is concerned with, and his mobilizing works based on the fact that he is putting himself up as a proponent of the topics. If it was not for his concerted efforts, some of these topics might not be pursued energetically.
