It’s not as if I didn’t know that Google Analytics was a super-powerful service. However, up to this point, I’ve really only used the surface features. As I’m not an expert myself, I knew I couldn’t write an in-depth article myself so I decided to do a bunch of research.


Instead of consolidating what I learned in one article that just touches a few bases, I have instead linked to some of the best articles I have read during my research. The following list includes 27 excellent articles (and a few videos) about Google Analytics. I also highly recommend you read through the comments on many of these – they are often just as helpful and interesting as the original article.

I know this is just brushing the surface of the huge amount of fantastic articles written about Google Analytics. So, please, use the comments to share your favorites. This blog is do-follow so feel free to link.

  • 27 articles. Too many for me. I recommend reading these articles if you have ecommerce site. Google works perfectly for such sites. For blogs like mine it doesn't make too much sense
  • A waste of time if they don't make you money, and they probably won't. How can a 5 minute Adsense training video teach you how to create a web site that millions of people will visit? That's what you need to make a few dollars from Adsense unless you cheat.

  • Most sites won't allow you to use your own HTML or javascript code on their sites (i.e. press release sites). What you'll have to do is set up analytics on your site and create a goal within your analytics settings based on the referring or landing page.

    Google Analytics is the best tool so far that I have been using for monitoring my blogs traffic. I can get the minutest detail where my traffic coming from and everything it is so simple to use.

I'll have to check out some of these articles to discover some better ways to use all of the features. For a free analytics program, Google Analytics is extremely useful.
