• The Automator:Auto SendersEvery internet marketer needs to set up at least one autoresponder. It takes an average of 7 separate contacts before a prospect will buy. This means that if you want to make a decent amount of sales, you have to keep in touch; remind your prospects that they want to buy your product or service. An autoresponder lets you write your messages, set your schedule and basically allows your list to be built and nourished on autopilot. At least for awhile. Aweber is by far the most popular service, but this is an article about free services and Aweber is not that. Autosenders, however, is. Of course, you get what you pay for and the free account is limited to 1 autoresponder with a maximum of 10 messages and a list of 1000. For a newbie, these constraints are probably okay. As I’ve already mentioned, the big boys use Aweber, but I’m not going to invest in paid autoresponder services until after I get paid.
  • The Form Filler and Password Keeper:RoboForm This is currently on of my very favorite pieces of software. I downloaded it when I first started internet marketing and I doubt I could live without it at this point. When my trial was up, I paid the $29.95 to go pro…and I never go for the paid versions of free products. Roboform allows you to enter all of your info (name, email address, phones, etc.) just once and then you can fill any form you want with the push of one button. It has saved me hours of typing (especially if you join a lot of forums and participate in JV giveaways). The second coolest thing it does (and it’s a very close second) is save passwords. I know, you can do that with Mozilla…and I used to. But with Roboform you can name the site for which the passwords belong and you just push a button to fill them in. This features has saved me several hundred more hours hunting down passwords or writing them down. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Roboform. The software has been a lifesaver for me and I highly recommend at least going for the free trial. After you’ve been using it for 30 days I dare you to live without it.
  • The File Transferer: Smart FTP Smart FTP is my favorite file transfer utility. It does everything I need it to do, all wrapped up in a neat little user-friendly interface. There is a paid version so once you start profiting you should pay for it, but it’s free for non-commercial use.
  • The RSS Reader:Konfabulator MultiNewsReader If you’re going to be an internet marketer you need to read blogs about internet marketing. This widget (you’ll need the Yahoo! Widget Engine to run it) lets you enter a bunch of your favorite feeds and check up on them as they update. You can set the widget engine to load on startup so you’ll always have your RSS feeds on your desktop when you have a spare five minutes to check up on John Chow or Brandon Hopkins.

    • For FTP - quick and dirty - I use Filezilla (also free), but for some of my FTP needs, I use FTP Voyager. It's a paid version, bit does one thing I can't live without... scheduled uploads/downloads.

Let's say my blog is due an update on plugins or a new version of a PDF I offer. I can just upload to my *monitored* directory and it will automatically connect to the site, upload and then remove from the *monitored directory*. Since you can create dozens of *jobs*, including uploading the same file to multiple sites, it's a real time saver.

I guess I should check out RoboForm since everyone is raving about it, but I wrote one for myself a few years ago and would HATE to have to move all my passwords, logins, software serial numbers. I think I have something like a thousand entries.

      Yuk.

    • I use the Roboform and SmartFTP. I used to use WinFTP before they started charging for it. I work for the school system, so I'm able to legally get the free version of SmartFTP.
