I just wanted to post a quick note about an additional resource here at Pajama Professional. I have been researching and completing some directory submissions lately so I decided to add a list of those that have significant PR so you could submit to them as well. As you probably know, just a few high PR links can greatly increase your own PR a lot more quickly than dozens or even hundreds of links from pages with PR 0-1.

These are all human-edited, respected directories that will list your link for free. Some of them ask for a reciprocal link. In my case, I don’t mind doing that because it helps you guys out. However, the list is getting longer and longer so I wanted to ask:

Should I create a separate directory links page or just leave it in the sidebar for convenience?

Please let me know in the comments. I appreciate your input!

It should never be assumed that simply because an individual doesn’t see the world that they can’t fully participate in it. Learning to play a musical instrument is just blind date uncensored one way of reaching out through the world and bringing the world as we know it to life.

create a new links or use a script

  • Definitely create a page just for it...it will help you attract links. I think the 2 key factors you mentioned here are that the directories are a) human reviewed and b) free. These are key factors that search engines consider in determining whether to provide any value to a directory link. Human reviewed and free means "editorially chosen."
  • I just added my free link directory
  • Don;t forget one thing though: a PR5 directory doesn't mean your link will be on a PR5 page. Indeed, it most likely go to a PR0 subpage...
  • You can also use our service to compile your list: http://www.top10php.com/directory-list/
  • I think having a separate page is best as well

  • I think that "create a separate directory links page" much better then links in sidebar.

  • You gave a very good idea. Thank you so much.. I found your advise so useful.
  • i'd go with the separate page. that way, as the list grows, it won't take up too much room on your sidebar. it'll also be easier to use.

  • Sara, besides that I agree to have it on a separate page I would find it valuable if you added a comment on whether the links you'll get from the directory will be a follow or a nofollow link.

Apart from that I suggest that you do a search for similar lists as there are several others like yours (some even updated weekly) online. No need to do more work than you have to ;)

  • Thanks for all the great feedback guys! I think I will put it on a separate page because it is bound to grow and would make a better resource elsewhere. Also, I don't want my page load to take any longer than it already does.

As for the page ranks being incorrect, I will double-check them. I got them from the distribution tool I am using (and going to give away to you guys after I test it a bit more) so they might be a bit out of date. I'll run them through a trustworthy PR checker before I publish the links page.

Thanks again for all the great feedback. You rock!

  • If the list is too long, I would make a separate page and then link to it from the sidebar, or it might effect the neatness of your blog design.
    Thanks,

  • Thank you for sharing these directories. They are indeed high PR, which will help our ranks.
  • I would suggest a separate page for the directory links. Some of the directories page ranks seem lower than currently listed on the sidebar. Thanks for the links.

  • That would be great. I'll look for it and thank you.
  • Hm, am I blind or did you leave out the link to said directories?
  • Personally, I would rather see it on a separate links page. You could turn it into a resource with some of the other links you have posted in your blog as well =)
