Keep Your Arm. Keep Your Leg. Build Your List!

I heard an interview today with a successful internet marketer today and he said something that woke me up a bit. He said that everything you do should in some way also help build your list. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard that when it comes to business on the internet the money is in the list. I guess it’s time I listened.

The thing is, I keep switching my focus between monetizing my blog only and affiliate marketing. I’ve said it many times, but I need to focus on one project at a time. That’s hard when I’m trying to run three blogs, but I’ve decided that I can run those and then choose one project aside from that. And, actually, one of the blogs could be my current project.

Anyway, back to the list. I really am interested in affiliate marketing and eventually creating my own infoproducts. I have tons of ideas, but I need more experience to really feel like I can market my knowledge. This gives me plenty of time to build my list. Lucky for me, at the same time I was deciding this, Gary Ambrose launched List Bandit.

I haven’t had much luck with list building memberships, but this one looks pretty cool. I can’t really recommend it yet because I haven’t been a member long enough to share referral or conversion data. However, I will give you three reasons why I think it’s a good idea to join:

2. You don’t have to invest a lot of time so if it doesn’t work you haven’t lost much.
3. The forum could turn out to be a great place to network and advertise.
