I’m glad you clicked this link! I am so absolutely disgusted by the idea of people selling content that has already been available for free. Not only is the content not fresh, it is probably not worth money even if it was. The type of people who “repurpose” content are the type of people who cut corners. They half-a$$ as much as they can, only caring about making a buck. Yes, they might get rich doing this and they might even be able to sleep at night, but it makes me thoroughly sick. I don’t even want to think about newbies who get online, desperate for money, and spend their last $27 on an ebook that promises that they’ll be able to pay their bills next month. An ebook that simply outlines a few ideas that worked five years ago and that they could have easily found using Google.
I would like to quickly say that, in some cases, repurposing content makes sense. If you have an article that works within a paid product you are making, then, by all means, update it and include it. It is okay to reuse ideas in products for which you charge money, but only if those ideas are added to new ideas that make the product a worthy purchase.
Personally, I haven’t sold any information products. I have a couple in the works, but they will be free. I believe that there is enough money to be made online that there is no reason not to freely share ways to do it. It takes a lot of work - at least initially - to make real money online. Very few people are actually willing to put in that work, so feeling too threatened to share your “secrets” is a bad excuse to start selling sh!t to honest people who just want some help.
Lastly, I would like to say that this is all just my opinion. Hopefully it was clear that the article was a satire. I wrote it because all this bullsh!t about repurposing content just pisses me off. I’m all for people making profits from their ideas and methods, but reusing something that you have already shared for free just because you think your customers won’t know the difference is just plain wrong. So before you follow some guru’s advice and start republishing your content and selling it, consider how much money you yourself have wasted on useless internet marketing information products. Ask yourself if you want to build your lifestyle and livelihood on scams and sh!t.
