The Alliance to Refine Content (ARC) is a membership site created to help you create an income stream by writing articles and/or ebooks. I downloaded their free report Write to Prosper awhile ago and finally got around to reading it. Although the report is full of helpful and interesting information – including an excellent “getting started” checklist – it is also full of advertising for the ARC membership site.
So imagine my surprise, when I found out that not only is the membership site free, it is packed with awesome features. I doubt I will be able to cover everything in this article. So when you are done reading, make sure you go sign up for the membership site. It is truly a great resource.
ARC is founded on the idea that content is a major commodity. It is always in demand and supply is always low in numbers and often low in quantity as well. On the ARC site, you can read articles about writing and publishing e-books, marketing and improving your productivity.
The ARC Affiliate Program is part of your free membership. There are two – equally cool – pieces to the affiliate program. The first piece is just the regular 2-tier affiliate program. ARC offers a very fair commission: up to 40% (depending on the product) and 10% on sales made by your referrals. There are a lot of products from which you can choose and by keeping it at two tiers, ARC hasn’t matrixed commissions down to pennies.
The only thing I would change about the ARC website is the design. It is so full of advertising (both adsense blocks and other several other types of advertising) that it is nearly impossible to separate ads from articles. I understand that it’s a free membership site and they need to make money, but a better design would allow for all the ads without them being quite so distracting. Once you find the content on the ARC site, it is definitely worth your time. I just wish it was easier to weed out the junk.
