After a week’s break while I figured out my new Blackberry-inspired Trip Around the Blogosphere system, the Trip is back and better than ever.
I started using Viigo when I got my Blackberry Storm a few weeks ago and I love it. I tried a few different methods of noting the posts I wanted to include in the Trip, but it took a few days for me to finally create a solid system for it.
It’s really too much of a pain to type out the entire Trip post on my Blackberry – it’s not that hard to type on it, but it’s not the easiest when I’m typing HTML and stuff – so I wanted a way to make a few notes and keep track of the posts I wanted to include. I have CellSpin installed, but it’s more suited to shorter posts and multimedia items. What I finally worked out was to create an email account specifically for the Trip articles and then use Viigo’s “Send in an Email” option to send the article and notes to the special address.
So now that it’s all worked out I have a ton more time to read feeds. It’s amazing how much I can get done in a long line or while I’m waiting for my coffee. Anyway, you can expect longer Trips from now on. Also, you can use the new Trip Around the Blogosphere address (at the end of this post) to email posts or blogs you’d like to see featured here.
- I’m not sure how I’ve gone quite this long without reading Linkbuildr regularly. I have been following on Twitter for awhile now and finally spend some time looking at the services available and reading the archives. Link building is arguably THE most important part of blog success and this site gives great tips and info on how to get it done either by yourself or with the services offered.
- In her article SEO: It’s a Digital World Cenay Nailor introduces a new Saturday series that will focus on various ways to optimize your blog or website for search engines. Given the fact that the Internet is quickly becoming (if it isn’t already) a primary means of communication and interaction for millions of people, this series should be beneficial to all. Cenay also has a killer blog full of video tutorials that is worth your time. She even takes requests for future tutorials!
- Daily Blog Tips has a killer list of 100 Download Sites sorted by category. If you are looking for some new software of any kind, you should definitely check out this list. And if you don’t have time to look at it right now, be sure to bookmark it.
- The Closet Entrepreneur has an excellent tutorial on how to create a Twitter background using PowerPoint. You simply download a PowerPoint template, customize it however you want and then export and upload it to your Twitter account. This tutorial walks you through the process, making it super-easy to really make your Twitter profile page your own.
- Sarah Evans wrote an article for Mashable about How to Find a Job on Twitter. If you are looking for great new ways to use Twitter, this is a definite must-read.
That does it for this week. Hope you find these articles as useful as I did. Thanks to the authors for creating such high quality, useful content.
