A couple of weeks ago I did a quick vanity Google for “Sara Christensen.” A lot of links were returned. None of them had anything to do with me. I decided I needed to do something about that . . . sometime.

Fast forward to this evening’s vanity Google. I used the same term “Sara Christensen.”

And guess what? There on the 1st page is me. And what site do I have to thank for this miracle in modern search engine marketing? Ezine Articles.

About three weeks ago, I decided to make it a priority to get some articles listed there. I submitted three and all three were accepted and I was made an “Expert Author.” That’s it.

Now that I am on the first page of results for “Sara Christensen,” my new goal is to be on the first page for “Sara.” Currently I am nowhere to be found in the first 20 pages – that’s as far as I dug.

So, if you want to link to me with the anchor text “Sara,” then you would totally be helping me with this new project. Especially if your page has a stellar page rank.

  • Sara, have you tried Article Sender yet? It can help you build links, and distribute your articles quickly.
  • If you really want to target "Sara" to be your first page, you really need to put a lot of effort to it since the "Sara" keyword is wide.

    Even you have submit "Sara" keyword link in any web directory, you may try to be a featured link as it help you to increase the page rank.

  • I have done a bit on the business networks, but not a whole lot. I will have to go check those out more closely. I know it will be very difficult to get on the front page with "Sara" but I think it will be fun to try.

    I am not sure if this will help but you should really get yourself into business networking sites (such as naymz, squidoo, linkedin, etc. and get links from those sites to your site with anchor text Sara (as they actually ask you to put your websites with anchor texts. Also go to ezine type article submission types with a small article promoting this site. At the bottom you can put written by Sara (Sara with the anchor link, etc.) Single names are very competitive though.
  • I was really surprised. I had heard that they helped, but I figured since everyone was rushing to use them it wouldn't have much affect. I was pleasantly surprised.
