I’ve been hanging out with my favorite 13-year-old this weekend and it seems that much of our conversation has centered around zombies. We recently saw Zombieland (awesome!) and tonight we watched Day of the Dead (awesome -r!). Then he told me that his friend told him about zombie caterpillars that were being created by wasps. We were both skeptical, but Google quickly gave us this:

Pretty creepy, huh? I know it really has nothing to do with internet marketing, but I thought that perhaps I could put a spin on it to make it fit. Then I decided that it didn’t matter if the video was closely related to this blog, it was awesome enough to stand on its own.

  • Yes, it's really creepy video..
  • That... is... scary...

About Zombieland I must admit that it is great movie, very funny and giving something I would call pure entertainment.

That was an amazing video. I'm still wondering how they got some of that footage. Now I have to scan the web to read more about these wasps and the virus they release that makes the caterpillar stay and protect them.
  • Our sedums have been destroyed by a small green caterpillar which seems to weave webs. We have many other plants in this boarder and they have all come to no harm.

  • These are new biological ingredients that has been utilizing since ages and have benefited to the farmers but also we have the side effect of it to.
  • It good to do find that. Sarien.net I take a visit at this like very useful link with complete list. thanks for sharing it.
  • Wooooooooooooooooooaw, i don't think this video would be suitable for kids but for adults its not bad. thanks anyway for the post.
  • Very creepy video!!
  • That's gross! I never like bugs or insects. It gives me creeps! yuck!
  • It's really creepy. I first time watch this type of video. Interesting..
  • The eggs hatched on the inside of the caterpillar, but in order to become a pupa, they must leave its body (after eating it from the inside out), and somehow it doesn't kill the host yet. And during the pupa stage, the previous host caterpillar protects the vulnerable cocoons until death by starvation. It's fascinating in a creepy way.
  • I had no idea that wasps had caterpillars. For some reason I assumed they had baby wasps. Boy do I feel stupid.
  • Nice creepy video. Just drove every one from Internet marketing to different thing. Kind of break. :)
  • Nice post And if you use direct deposit ,your money is sent to another bank where they have to clear it, then to netspend and they charge your account the fee of them sending it to their bank, which is METABANK (NEVER HEARD OF THEM).
  • Well i think it is hard for me to stand with them.
  • I gave it another try and tried to watch a bit of this clip. Sorry but those things are just too nasty. I don't know what it is about caterpillars, but I can't stand them.
  • Hello, to new month with new bliss all around.....
  • Raise hell there for giving you an infested plant. Pop a plastic bag over it to keep the bugs away from you if that is an issue.
  • If it is that new bring it back to the seller and raise hell there for giving you an infested plant. Pop a plastic bag over it to keep the bugs away from you if that is an issue.

True it does not fit into marketing, but it is really cool info. My teen daughter loved Zombieland, but I do not think she would appreciate these wasp zombies.

Hello. This application was very good. I want your success.
  • Thanks for the post. OOoh, thats awful...I feel blue around the gill...
  • That caterpillar starve itself to death just to protect those wasp, motherly love?
  • I hate these wrigglers, and those BOTFLIES!!!
  • The parasitoid wasp lays its eggs, about 80 at a time, in young caterpillars. The eggs hatch and the larvae feed on the caterpillar's body fluids. When they are fully developed, they eat through the caterpillar's skin, attach themselves to a nearby branch or leaf and wrap themselves up in a cocoon. The wasps are manipulative parasites making the host behave as a true bodyguard to protect themselves.
  • Wow, well I completely lost my appetite, but thanks for sharing. Those are some sneaky wasps.
  • I seen lots of positive review on Zombieland but I havent watch it yet, anyways I saw this episode in nat geo before and it really gross me out there is this another insect that attack spiders and put in their larva in the spider, really weird stuffs.
  • Zombieland - Awesome Movie and whenever you are in doubt Google has an app for that

  • Hi Sara,

This is a amazing video. I have seen it before too on you tube.

Like you I have also liked the Zombieland. This theme is amazing and gives me goosebumps every time. But I still like it.

    Thanks for sharing it.
  • that's pretty creepy. imagine somethings alive inside your body and eating you slowly.
  • nomochrome
    wow thats really creepy.
  • I'm not really into Zombies and haven't watched Zombieland or Day of the Dead. Probably never will. But nevertheless it's good to rest your mind and body from Internet Marketing and do whatever you enjoy for leisure. I am firm believer breaking away from the day to day actually makes you more productive as a marketer.
  • It's not really creepy... I would say it is just plain Gross! Urghhh :(

    Till then,

    Jean
  • Oh it's creepy enough for me. We've been battling a cupboard moth infestation that has resulted in occasional caterpillars on the kitchen ceiling. I'd be happy to never see another caterpillar ever.
  • Wow! A cupboard with Moth infestation :( Okay Laptop Briefcases, you've convinced me I now too believe it to be creepy :(

    Till then,

    Jean
  • It's actually worse than it sounds. These moths chew through food packaging to find places to lay eggs. So far they laid eggs in a closed spaghetti box and a closed bag of rice. Luckily I think we finally got rid of them, but we had to start leaving our balcony door closed all the time. Our cats aren't too happy about that, but they can just wait to use the litter box when we get home.
  • Sorry to hear that happened to you my friend, glad to hear you got rid of them, with you guys having cats, that would be a serious case because they might more in danger than us humans if you know what i mean.

    Till then,

    Jean
  • I have seen Zombieland twice and it is really awesome.
  • That's really gross.. I feel sorry for the caterpillar..
  • Hi Sara,

The video looks amazing. Perfect with the Zombie theme. Zombie theme is always exciting, it reminds me of Michale Jackson's Thriller.

I have seen Zombieland twice and it is really awesome.
  • Hey Sara,

Sorry to say, but it looks creepy, as I don't like watching caterpillars at all, so this vid is really not for me.

But I will surely watch the Zombieland.
  • I didn't like it. I am interested in reading a good blog. But you have provided a video related to caterpillars, may be something nice would be in your mind.
  • This is like twilight zone. If you connect it with internet marketing, you will be god-like. LOL.
  • You are saying right my friend. I am much concern with you.
  • Hey, it's fist time i have seen video on your post. In video they are seeming nice but out side i don't like that.
  • I had no idea that wasps created caterpillars. For some reason I just assumed wasps hatched as baby wasps that could fly right away. Boy do I feel stupid.
  • I can't stand caterpillars. They are so frickin nasty. I don't mind bugs so much, but caterpillars are just so squishy. I don't think I can watch this video.
